Day 1: Today, you are being received at the airport,
and transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day
2: Today is the day to explore the UNSECO Heritage
sites of Nepal, this includes the Syambhunath (Monkey Temple),
Patan Durbar Square, Pashupati, and Boudha. It is a long
day of tour, we hope you will explore and experience the
most.
Day
3: This day is rest day, and to relax and pack
for the days to come. You will be spending 6 nights and
7 days at the remote village of Aru Kharka. Your accommodation
is basic, with 2 rooms for boy and girls. You will be using
dormitory system of accommodation. Meals are all provided.
Day
4: Drive to 35Kilo – 27km from Kathmandu,
pleasant and beautiful landscape of Nepal, overseeing the
Trishuli Khola at the far bottom valley. After we are dropped
at the 35Kilo village, we take a walk on a gravel road that
goes to the remote village of Aru Kharka.
It
is a 2 hour to 3 hours walk seeing few villages, and many
locals who use the same dirt road to transport milk and
vegetable to the main highway road. In a clear day, you
will see Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal and much other range
to the far west and east.
This
day after your walk, to the village where you will be based
for the next coming 9 days, you will relax the first day
you reach to Aru Kharka.Aru Kharka is a village that consists
of 250 houses, that houses 50% of Brahmins and Tamang who
reside in the village. It is a village that lacks infrastructure
to get water and electricity, although having the source.
20% of the village people have general education, but do
not have any formal degree.
This
village grows primarily wheat, rice, and corn. Although
they can grow vegetables in the village, they lack the infrastructure
to export the products to the nearest city. The village
also has a major income from the milk that they sell to
the nearest city. Only 50% of the household are income based
others rely on their own farm products.
Although
the village is only 27km from Kathmandu, it lacks electricity.
Due to the high rate of illiteracy, the village still lacks
the knowledge of sending their children to school. There
are about 3 village development committees that are near
to this village. |
